LOVE will be in the air at a fundraising wedding fair this weekend.

The joint-owners of My Wedding Belle shop, in Greatham, have organised the event to help raise cash to help replace the roof at Greatham Community Centre.

Dozens of exhibitors will attend the event –which includes a prize of a deluxe £500 wedding decor package.

The wedding fair has proved so popular that Samantha Hinchcliffe, 27, and Chantelle Kenny, 25, are having to turn away stallholders because there is no room left for any more exhibitors at Saturday’s event .

And they are encouraging people to go along to the community centre on the day to see what the 30 wedding exhibitors have to offer.

Florists, photographers, DJs, craft and stationery suppliers as well as other wedding goods and service providers will be on hand at the fair, which takes place between 11am and 3pm and 5pm and 8pm.

“We have had a fantastic response,” said Samantha, who lives in the Clavering area of Hartlepool.

“We have had to start turning stallholders away because we just can’t fit anymore in.

“It’s free entry and there is going to be absolutely everything wedding-wise for people to have a look at.”

A raffle will be held for one lucky punter to win the £500 wedding decor package from Samantha and Chantelle’s shop, which opened in September last year.

Samantha revealed that they will be donating 10 per cent of all bookings made on the day towards the fund to replace the community centre roof. She said other companies have expressed an interest in making similar donations.

The fair has already raised £365 through table bookings and Samantha and Chantelle hope the total will eventually hit the £1,000 mark.

“Hopefully we will reach that target,” added Samantha.

“We have done well to raise as much as we have so far and that’s before the event has even taken place.”

Samantha and Chantelle say they have organised the wedding fair to show their thanks to villagers who have “welcomed them with open arms”.
