A NEW book gives an insight into what it means to be a widower and living alone in modern times.
The book, called Without Her, has been written by a group of friends from County Durham and is available at Healthworks in Paradise Lane, Easington Colliery.
The piece has been published in aid of Age UK County Durham and is edited by John Clarke.
Mr Clarke said: “The group wanted to express our individual feelings about losing our wives and subsequently living alone.
“We felt that others who have suffered in a similar way might find our thoughts useful”.
The book, which costs £2.99, contains 11 chapters of personal stories, each one written by a different member of the diverse group and dealing with issues such as bereavement, dementia, becoming domesticated and living in County Durham.
