DOZENS of people took to our Facebook page to name the best place in Hartlepool to have a pint after we asked for your favourite pub.
And it seems Hartlepool is spoilt for choice when it comes to watering holes as a host of establishments were put forward.
We asked the question after Hartlepool’s newest pub, The Stag and Monkey, in Belle Vue Way, opened on Wednesday and The Harbour of Refuge, on the Headland, went under new ownership.
You came back with more than 15 different pubs from across the town that you would recommended fellow readers to visit.
Dennis Toon wrote: “The Globe is the best pub and the best beer, and staff are very friendly.”
Peter Skirving put: “The Jacksons Arms. Lovely family pub, great atmosphere, loads of fun and pair of great landlords, Debra & Trevor.”
Lynn Mason said: “Travellers’ Rest... good food, good beer and a good blend of customers from young to not so young.
“Fair split between ‘drinkers’ and ‘eaters’ and a good spacious area at the rear for families to play whilst mum or dad have a quick drink in the sun.”
Angela Bennett wrote: “It has to be The Fishermans Arms on the Headland. Fab beer, a fantastic atmosphere and it just feels like one big family – even if you have never been there before!”
Gana Robinson typed: “The Schooner is the best pub. Excellent value for food and the staff are so friendly.”
Caroline Armstrong put: “The Harbour of Refuge (Pot House) on the Headland, fab pub, fab Sunday lunch... in fact most of the pubs on the Headland are great.”
