PEOPLE could be quids in with a lottery scheme run by Hartlepool & District Hospice.

Winner Kim Sewell collected £1,000 she won in a recent draw from lottery manager Veronica Nelson when she visited the hospice in Wells-Avenue yesterday.

There are hundreds of pounds to be won every week with the scheme that also helps fund key services for local people living with life-limiting conditions.

In the latest draw carried out yesterday, no-one won the first prize of £1,500 which now rolls over to next week.

There was one second prize winner, from Blackhall, who will walk away with £1,000.

Ten players pocketed a crisp £20 note after being one of the third place prize winners and 15 people won a tenner.
