Police are appealing to trace the driver of a white van which failed to stop following a collision with a cyclist in Hartlepool.

The collision happened at around 7.30pm on Monday September 19 at the junction of Sandringham Road and Murray Street.

The 41-year- old cyclist was left lying in the street following the collision, whilst the driver left the scene without stopping.

He was taken to hospital following the incident and suffered a cut to the head and grazes.

The van could possibly be a new Ford Transit Connect.
