Witness appeal after robbery

POLICE are investigating an alleged robbery said to have taken police in broad daylight.

A 33-year-old man is said to have been mugged by two or three men in Stanhope Avenue, near the junction with Eltringham Road.

Police say the men knocked the man to the ground and took a quantity of money before making off.

The man suffered minor injuries during the incident, which is said to have taken place between 12.20pm and 1.15pm on Wednesday, January 26.

The suspects are said to be white, with one man wearing a dark jacket and another wearing a dark striped jacket.
