Witnesses to crash sought

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a crash between a scooter and a car which left a man with a fractured elbow.

The smash happened at the Belle Vue Way roundabout at the junction with Burn Road, in Hartlepool, around 2.15pm on Tuesday.

A red and silver Golden Bee scooter was travelling along the A689 towards the roundabout in the direction of Hartlepool town centre when it crashed into a small black car.

The rider of the scooter, a 20-year-old man, suffered a fractured right elbow.

Today a police spokesman urged any witnesses to the incident to come forward, particularly the driver of the small black vehicle - who may not have known the accident happened - to come forward.
