A WOMAN needed hospital treatment after being involved in a two-car collision.

Emergency services were called to the junction of Hart Lane and Raby Road, in Hartlepool, just before 3pm yesterday.

Motorists faced disruption while the police, fire and ambulance crews dealt with the incident involving a green Ford Focus and a silver Hyundai Elantra.

The front on both cars were badly damaged and fuel spilled on to the road.

Both cars were being driven by women and one of them was taken to the University Hospital of North Tees, in Stockton, by ambulance for treatment.

It is not known how serious her injuries are.

A spokeswoman for Cleveland Police said the cars were removed just before 4pm.

Crews from Stranton Fire Station were called to deal with the fuel spillage and they left the scene at about 4.10pm.
