A WOMAN has been left with a £250 bill after she believes another driver damaged her car and drove away.
Julie Cooper had parked her Renault Megane car outside her home in Hart Lane, Hartlepool, at 1pm and when she next went out to the light blue-coloured vehicle at around 7pm she noticed that there was a huge dent around one of the rear wheel arches.
She said the dent was covered in a turquoise-coloured paint.
The 40-year-old mum-of-one said the person responsible did not knock on her door or leave a note explaining what had happened and simply drove off.
Now Julie, a sterile assistant at the University Hospital of Hartlepool, has been left to foot the bill to get the damage repaired.
It comes just three years after Julie’s old car, also a Renault Megane, was written off in a smash while parked in the same spot.
Today Julie said: “I’m absolutely fuming. Any decent person would leave a note or knock on the door and say what’s happened.
“To just leave and let a person find the damage is just awful.”
Julie, who has lived in Hart Lane for six years, said: “I’d just like to know if anyone saw anything. Someone must have seen something because it’s a really busy road.
“I can’t believe after what happened with my old car being written off, that this has happened to this car.”
Julie reported the incident to Hartlepool Police shortly as soon as she found the damage at 7pm on Tuesday.
