EMERGENCY services were called to a pensioner who took ill in a street.
The 63-year-old woman was seen receiving treatment on the pavement of Swainson Street, in Hartlepool, but her injuries were not thought to be serious.
Both paramedics and police officers had been called to help the woman at 1.45pm yesterday.
A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: “A woman had taken ill in the street and was taken to the University Hospital of North Tees.”
A North East Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “We were called out to near the Grand Hotel. The incident was categorised as a C, which is our lowest level.”
