KIDS were far from pesky when they got to meet a much-loved cartoon hound.

Pupils from Glendene School and Community Arts College, in Crawlaw Road, Easington Colliery, along with youngsters from the nursery at the Dene House Sure Start Children’s Centre and the Sunshine Day Nursery, both in Peterlee, got to meet Scooby Doo when he appeared at the Castle Dene Shopping Centre, in Peterlee.

Scooby’s mystery mansion, filled with soft play area fun, was at the centre and provided hours of enjoyment for the youngsters during a free event.

Twelve children from Glendene and the 46 youngsters from the two nurseries were treated to a VIP session before other youngsters from the general public got to visit the mansion.

Youngsters got to have fun on soft play features including secret tunnels, trap doors, revolving bookcases and Scooby Doo villains.
