TALENTED young performers are getting ready for their first production.
Hartlepool Junior Stage Society was set up in September and are getting ready to wow audiences with their first show.
Entitled Hoodwinked, it is a musical about Robin Hood and his band of merry men.
The junior stage society was formed out of younger members of the senior section.
Director Sarah Barton, a member of the senior group, said: “We have always had younger members but now they have set up a completely separate junior section.
“We have been rehearsing loads, around two or three times a week, and the members are all really excited about doing it.
“For most of them it is their first time having a main part.
“We have done things like The Sound of Music which has children in it but now they are able to play the main parts.
“Anybody who wanted a speaking role has been given one.”
Hartlepool Junior Stage Society currently has around 25 enthusiastic members, who are all aged between 14-18.
Hoodwinked will be performed at the society’s hall on Glamorgan Grove, Throston, in Hartlepool, on Wednesday, March 20, and Thursday, March 21.
The production starts at 7pm each night, and lasts just over an hour.
Tickets cost £3 each, and are available from Sarah on 07882 576863.
