Youngsters step out for charity challenge

SCHOOLS and early years groups are being encouraged to get into shape for next month’s Sport Relief weekend.

Organisers are calling on groups across Hartlepool and east Durham to get active on Friday, March 23 and help raise vital charity cash.

Last year’s campaign saw schools and early years groups from across the region raise an impressive £190,000, adding to a national total of £4.3m.

Youngsters can run, skip, hop, dance or even hula hoop down to the finish line, and a free fundraising resource pack contains exclusive materials to help teachers organise it.

All the cash raised will help people living tough lives both locally and overseas.

Teachers can sign up for a free resource pack, which includes fundraising ideas, posters, balloons, stickers, as well as interactive learning resources to help pupils understand where the money goes.
