If that didn’t frighten the 6,500 workers and ancillary suppliers nothing else will.

The British Government, or the Northern Powerhouse, should now be expected to provide cost certainty over export duties.

This appears to be the hub of unpredictable issues expressed by Nissan’s principal, otherwise it would have no other option financially but to take further action.

It would be a very sad day for the whole of the North East area if this is allowed to escalate, and ventures into more serious consequences.

Nissan started building the factory, including production, in 1986, financed and subsidised by the British Government.

From then on it has expanded into one of the most thriving and leading car manufacturers in Britain.

It is considered to be a “jewel in the crown” of Nissan enterprises and a trademark example of work efficiency.

Nissan is run with an almost military precision.

No union problems, any disputes are handed in-house.

A 100% success venture, placing trust in British workers to accomplish.
