Letter of the week: Filming comedy series at University Hospital of Hartlepool is an insult to town

Tom Binns's character DJ Ivan Brackenbury gives the thumbs up in Hospital People. Our writer, however, gives the series the thumbs down for a number of reasons.

What an insult to the people and patients of Hartlepool

We no longer have a full University Hospital of Hartlepool.

Services have been cut and in-patient wards closed.

But North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust thinks it’s okay to allow the building to be used for filming of this puerile nonsense, Hospital People (Mail, April 12).

The biggest insult being the A&E sign.

Hartlepool lost that vital service years ago!

Whoever commissioned this infantile rubbish needs to explain themselves.

It is neither funny nor imaginative and certainly not cutting edge.

S Moule,

Hutton Henry.
