AFTER the sale of Jack Baldwin to Peterborough United last January, Pools chairman Ken Hodcroft stated that the fee was £500,000.

However, as it would be paid in instalments, there would be no money for the then manager to sign new players.

Fair enough.

So may I now ask Mr Hodcroft the following:

Nearly one year on, how much has the club now received from this transfer, and also the amount received from the same club from August’s transfer of Luke James?

How much of this money, plus the £80,000 from the BBC for televising the recent FA Cup tie, will be given to the manager to sign the quality players we need to avoid relegation to non-league football?

Why did John Hughes, the current manager of second-placed team Inverness CT in the Scottish Premier, leave the club?

Peter McClure,

Mountbatten Close,

Hartlepool.
