Letter: Stop spending on Hartlepool Vision

IMPROVED CONNECTIVITY: An artist's impression of planned Church Street improvements

AFTER a good night’s sleep, my vision for the town.

Stop spending on the Vision Hartlepool Borough Council has for Church Street.

If it wants a new Cleveland College of Art & Design, extend our college of excellence in Stockton Street.

Forget buying the Odeon cinema, the Longscar Hall and Coasters building.

We have bought Jacksons Landing as an eyesore.

It’s still an eyesore.

Part of Jacksons Landing could be turned into an art college – an ideal position.

Then we have Morison Hall.

Did we get our finances back?

The Register Office, in Raby Road – the council says it got a fair price.

Surely, in my opinion, it should have been put out to tender, and the best offer accepted?

I believe we deserve better.

I’m just waiting to see the outcome of The Tees Valley authority.

Will it be another Middlesbrough catastrophe for the townspeople?

All we can do is sit back, and grin and bear it – or vote these councillors out.

If we have money to spare, sort out all the homes which have stood empty for the last seven years in the west end off Hart Lane.

All that lost revenue.

O Landreth,

Sheriff Street,

Hartlepool.
