MAY I thank everyone who has kindly donated to the pet food collections in Morrisons over the last 12 months.
All foods are shared between the RSPCA, Greyhound and Lurcher Rescue, King Charles Spaniel Rescue, Cat Orphanage and Dogs Trust.
Money placed into sealed tins is taken back into the store and spent on dog and cat food which is, of course, shared with the charities mentioned, which all take in and care for animals from Hartlepool and the surrounding area, as space permits.
I would also like to thank the management at Morrisons, the staff and their security officer Jonathan for their kindness when we are in the store.
I am also grateful to my helpers, Val Glass, Margaret Olaman and Ian, my long-suffering husband. I could not carry on without you.
Sadly, there are always many animals waiting to come into the sanctuaries, some have been abused or discarded like household waste.
By your kindness, you have helped tails to keep wagging and little eyes to shine.
For many of these animals a kind word and a warm bed with some food are but a dream.
You have helped this dream to come true for many and I thank you most sincerely.
We will not be in Morrisons during December as the store is too busy. We will however have a stall at the Borough Hall, on November 30, during the Christmas Extravaganza, and would be grateful for your support.
The kennel-shaped collection box is in Morrisons as usual, and any food placed in it is shared between the charities mentioned above.
We have been told that we can start our collections in the store again next year.
May I take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy Christmas and a peaceful, prosperous and healthy New Year.
