LETTER: We’ll fight to end for hospital

FIRST and foremost I would like to thank everyone who turned out for the recent peaceful protest march.

It was very windy but the response was overwhelming.

It didn’t put us off but made us stronger as a town in need of our health services re-instating.

I would also like to thank Inspector Suggitt and his team.

They made this event very safe indeed.

Also Hartlepool Borough Council for opening the gates and doing the road closures so quickly for us.

To the North Tees & Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust for its welcome onto the grounds of the University Hospital of Hartlepool.

I really didn’t expect it at all.

Thanks to the Town of Hartlepool Challenge Facebook page, inviting me to share the march.

There are too many of you to mention – you all know who you are.

And to the Hartlepool Mail for the coverage it has given to this event.

January 10 was just the start.

I am having a meeting with the trust and starting to organise picketing outside of the hospital on a weekly basis.

We have the banners, we have the support.

Let’s show our Government and the trust that we will fight to the ends of the earth for our hospital to be kept in Hartlepool, and to be fully re-instated.

Watch out for future events. I will keep you posted.

Sue Little,

Bilsdale Road,

Seaton Carew.
