Need to take in fair share

The refugee crisis has reached epic proportions.

We are seeing the most heart-breaking sights on TV every day.

Great Britain has always had a reputation for welcoming those fleeing war and persecution, dating back to the French Protestants in the 16th century.

I am asking you to call on local politicians, both MPs and councillors, to apply pressure on the Government to take more Syrian refugees into the UK.

If we do not take in our fair share of these desperate people we will no longer deserve to call our country “great”.

We will be shamed before the nations of the world for our inhumanity.
