No taking it for granted

On Question Time on November 17, how toe-curlingly awkward it was to watch Labour MP Chris Bryant squirm like a maggot on a fishing hook when David Dimbleby challenged him about his resignation from the shadow Cabinet after Jeremy Corbyn's election as Labour leader.

He then continued to wriggle on that hook by wittering on about party unity.

Hypocrisy anyone?

I hope that Iain Wright, our esteemed MP, takes note.

I urge him to get behind the Labour leader and work for a Labour victory at the next election, even if that means serving as a shadow minister.

I believe that most voters have had their belly full of politicians looking to serve their own careers, forgetting why they are there and who put them there.

Ukip is snapping at Mr Wright’s heels.

After Trump’s election in America, he cannot afford to take anything for granted.
