Providing for Callum’s ongoing needs

I AM writing on behalf of the management committee of Epilepsy Outlook to express gratitude to the Editor, Joy Yates, reporter Chris Cordner, photographers Tom and Frank, and all the team at the Hartlepool Mail for the wonderful publicity given to our appeal to raise money for a sensory bedroom for Callum Smith.

Our target of £5,000 was, in your own words, “smashed” on September 9.

The total is well over £10,000, which will help the family provide for Callum’s ongoing needs.

We also thank Mail readers and the generous people of Hartlepool, and give a mention to McDonald’s, Hartlepool Round Table, High Tunstall College of Science, and everyone who gave goods, cash or their time to help this lovely little boy.

We are currently working with Callum’s family preparing his bedroom, so I will update everyone on progress soon.

Once again thanks very much.
