I am writing with reference to the query about the Harmony Hearts (Mail, November 14).
I was a member for a few years.
Unfortunately our choir master (who was pictured in the newspaper) retired and we disbanded shortly afterwards.
We sang barbershop-style and practiced in The Oddfellows’ upstairs room, in Whitby Street.
Our main audience was in various sheltered accommodations, mainly residents who liked the old songs.
We also dressed up as a diversion to do a small concert.
We once appeared at the Town Hall.
The Mail photograph was taken in one of our members’ houses.
Songs were reminiscent of the music halls of old.
