As a keen dog walker, I adjust my walks along the beach at Seaton Carew to comply with the seasonal dog ban.
I’m aware that South Tyneside Council has a more dog friendly approach to the issue of a dog ban.
Dogs are not allowed on Sandhaven Beach between May 1 and September 30 between the hours of 8am and 6pm.
It is interesting to note that Sandhaven beach has been awarded Blue Flag status for 10 consecutive years.
Perhaps a Hartlepool Borough Council officer could give specific reasons why the council could not introduce a similar time restriction, and allow dog walkers the pleasure of using the whole beach, especially for early morning and late evening walks.
