BOSS Steve Bruce is delighted to have finally tied up the signing of Argentinian right-back Marcos Angeleri.
The three-times capped international has penned a three-year deal with Sunderland after departing Estudiantes, runners-up to Barcelona in the World Club Cup last year.
Bruce handed the 27-year-old his debut in Saturday's 4-2 friendly win over Hull in Portugal, and he enthused: "Marcos is a strong, powerful defender and will add depth to the squad. He is also very keen to get forward from that position so that adds an extra dimension to the side.
"He has been one of the best right full-backs in South America in recent years and has really impressed us when we've watched him."
Angeleri helped Estudiantes lift the 2009 Copa Libertadores, the South American equivalent of the Champions League. He scored twice in 175 appearances for the club.
