Collins the Villa killer!

DANNY Collins is hoping to be the Villa killer this weekend and make up for having his 'winner' against the Midlands side wrongly chalked off back in December.

The defender scored in virtually the last second of the game when the teams met at the Stadium of Light, only for referee Steve Bennett to controversially disallow it for a foul.

Replays prove the goal should have stood and it would have given Sunderland a 2-1 win – two points which would have put the Black Cats 14th in the current table rather than 17th.

But while that decision cost Sunderland dearly that day, Collins is hoping that his own lucky streak against Aston Villa continues.

He said: "I've only scored one goal for Sunderland in my time at the club and that was at Villa Park a couple of seasons ago.

"By rights, I should be on two goals after scoring against Villa again earlier this season but maybe the run will continue and it'll be third time lucky.

"I almost scored against Chelsea last weekend when I got up for a header on the back of John Terry.
