MICHAEL Turner and Lee Cattermole are the two contenders to replace Lorik Cana as Sunderland captain.
Sunderland fans may get a sneak preview as to will take on the reins of power when their team takes on Portuguese champions Benfica in Albufeira tonight.

Bruce is yet to make a decision on who will lead the Wearsiders out for the 2010-11 campaign in the wake of the Albanian international's surprise departure to Galatasaray.

But said: "I think it will come down to a choice between Michael or Lee.

"But I'm in no rush to decide either way – the season is a long way off."

He added: "When you look at it, we've got a few candidates.

"Craig Gordon was captain at Hearts for a while, I know.

"And some people would point to Darren Bent because of the stack of goals he's scored and the high profile he has.

"But, for me, it comes down to either Michael or Lee."
