ROY KEANE hopes to have more new signings to unveil by the time Sunderland host Ajax at the Stadium of Light on Sunday.
He's wrapped up deals for six players so far this summer, Steed Malbranque signing last night at the same time as his new team-mates were beating Nottingham Forest.

Keane accepts he will also have to sell players, but is still eager for improvemen
t.

The Sunderland boss said: "We're heading in the right direction. I want plenty of competition - people trying to give me a headache.

"I'm delighted with the progress we're making.

"I appreciate we have a lot of players, but we're bringing a lot of quality. I also know that we need to let one or two go and we have to wheel and deal ourselves.

"People keep saying I'm signing lots of players, but I don't think I've signed that many - hopefully it's not over yet.

"I have maybe another two or three more players in mind we hope to make progress with over the next few days.

"We'd like to think they will be in before the Ajax game but in this transfer game you can't predict what's going to happen.

"We're delighted with the bodies we've got in, but know we need more and I'm hopeful."
