BOXING'S Super Sunday show is back and will headlined by the "Bruise Brothers".
Hartlepool fighters Craig and Mark Denton will top the bill at the Mayfair Centre, on May 25.

It will be a special day for Mark, a former leading English middleweight, who will be making his professional debut.

After the retirement of former British, Commonwealth and European champion, Michael Hunter, the Seaton Carew bill will represent something of a new era for Neil Fannan and Dave Garside, the coach and manager.

"I can't wait," said Fannan. "I'm excited by these two lads.

"They were always good value for money when they boxed for the Headland in the amateurs and it will be the same in the professionals.

"Craig has already taken to pro boxing like a duck to water.

"He's won all five of his fights and he's starting to look like a proper professional.

"Mark has been in the gym for a while now, but his debut has been delayed because of an operation on his hand.

"He's fine now and he's really looking the part.

"Mark had a really good amateur career before he went off boxing for a while.

"He's got the bug back and I have high hopes he'll do well."

Mark, 25, will be following in the ringsteps of his 27-year-old brother.

Craig may not have matched the levels of amateur success Mark enjoyed, but he's certainly made a name for himself in the paid ranks.
Unbeaten after five contests, Craig has got better and better each fight.

This Super Sunday appearance will be his first since the heartache of seeing the collapse of his Hartlepool derby with Shaun Farmer.

The pair were due to contest the vacant Northern Area light-middleweight championship on March 9.

However, the show had to be scrapped after Craig was admitted to hospital suffering from pneumonia.

Now, he is "fighting fit" according to Fannan.

"There have been no ill-effects," he said.

"He's in full training and I've had him out on the track and his times are no different to what they were before.

"His illness hasn't taken anything out of him.

"Craig's in great nick and he'll be in top shape for May 25."

It will be the first time the Dentons have appeared on the same bill since November 2005 when they were in action at the Borough Hall for their home club, Headland ABC.

"They are both great lads and they are a pleasure to train, absolute fanatics," said Fannan.
