GRAEME Storm suffered one of those days when a golfer just wished the fairway would open and swallow him up.
The Hartlepool star experienced one of the worst days of his golfing life when he registered a 13-over-par 85 on the last afternoon of the Portugal Masters.

Storm had gone into the final two days in contention at the top after opening up with two rounds of 69 to be tied for 13th on a six-under-par mark of 138.

A level-par 72 on Saturday was not the end of the world, even though he had slipped to 23rd at the Oceanico Victoria course.

But Storm collapsed badly yesterday. After going 38 holes without a single blemish on his scorecard, the 30-year-old carded six bogeys, two double bogeys and a triple bogey.

Out in 44, Storm came back in 41 for a round of 85 to see him fall to 68th on seven over par, with only two players finishing below him.

At the top, Spaniard Alvaro Quiros clinched the title on 19 under par.
