HARTLEPOOL fight star Savannah Marshall is looking to go one better than she did at the Worlds 12 months ago when she heads to the European Championship tomorrow.
Marshall clinched silver at her World Championship debut last autumn, the-then teenager capturing a lot of attention and admirers along the way before being beaten 5-4 in the final by American star Andrecia Wasson.
The 20-year-old has stepped up from U69 kilos to the U75 kilo middleweight category – one of the three divisions which will be staged at the 2012 Olympics in London.
Marshall is one of Britain’s big hopes for gold at the Euros which get under way in Rotterdam on Monday.
“Gold is always the target you are given by the GB coaches,” said the exciting Headland fighter.
