BRADLEY Saunders is celebrating victory in the WBO inter-continental light-welterweight championship after outpointing Ville Piispanen in Newcastle.
The 28-year-old demolished the Finn in only one minute 21 seconds at the Metro Radio Arena on the Rampage bill headlined by Stuart Hall’s IBF world title defence against Paul Butler.
Rampage is the operative word. Saunders floored the 30-year-old with an explosive left to the body, referee Phil Edwards counting him out.
Saunders success means he will now have gained a ranking with the World Boxing Organisation.
