SAVANNAH Marshall begins her European Union championship bid tomorrow in Poland with a tough quarter-final test.
The Hartlepool boxer was a silver medallist in last year’s EU tournament in Budapest when she lost to a Hungarian in the final.
And tomorrow it will be Hungary again providing the opposition when she takes on Maria Kovacs.
It is a major obstacle for Marshall to clear in Katowice.
The 30-year-old is a two-time world champion and returned from last year’s event in Barbados with a bronze medal after going out in the U75 kilo semis at the Garry Sobers Arena.
