SAVANNAH Marshall’s dreams of clinching gold at her first senior European championship appearance are over.
The Hartlepool boxer was forced to settle for bronze after losing her middleweight semi-final last night to Holland hero’s Nouchka Fontijn.
Inspired by boxing in her home city of Rotterdam, Fontijn led throughout at the TopSport Centrum Arena to reach the final by the margin of 15-7.
While there was disappointment for Marshall, it is not the end of the world for the former European U19 champ ABC champ.
It was only the second appearance up at U75 kilos for the 20-year-old, who 11 months ago was a runner up at the world games in Barbados at U69 kilos.
