HARTLEPOOL boxing stars Savannah Marshall and Amanda Coulson today experienced mixed luck in their build-up to London 2012, writes Roy Kelly.
SportMail reported last month that Marshall was an almost-certain selection for the Great Britain side going to the European Championships.
The 20-year-old has duly been picked at U75 kilos but there was bad news for Coulson, who has been left out by GB’s management.
Britain have picked up and coming talent Chantelle Cameron at U60 kilo and selected Coulson’s friend and long-time closest rival for the Olympics, Natasha Jonas, at U64 kilo.
Marshall is looking to challenge for her first medal in the middleweight division she hopes to be boxing at in the 2012 Olympic Games.
