NEW boxing professional Bradley Saunders has signed up Eddy Ellwood as part of his coaching team.
Saunders will make his pro debut at York Hall in London on Friday, February 10, in a six-round bout against an, as yet, un-named opponent.
The former Olympic and Commonwealth Games boxer, from Sedgefield, told SportMail he was “over the moon” to have the five-times Mr Universe as his strength and conditioning coach.
Saunders will work regularly with the world-renowned bodybuilder and strongman competitor at Ellwoods Fitness World in Hartlepool.
“You can’t get anyone better than Eddy,” said Saunders.
“When I was in the Great Britain squad we had a conditioning coach and nutritionist at the English Institute of Sport.
“It’s a vital part of the set-up and Eddy is right up there at the top.
“I’ll be down Hartlepool three or four times a week I’m looking forward to working with Eddy.”
