DURHAM must bring their match-winning ability to the table from the off – that is the message from head coach Geoff Cook, writes Gary Foster.

The men from the Emirates ICG kick off their 2012 County Championship campaign at home to Nottinghamshire tomorrow and Cook is well aware a good start can play a huge part in how the season goes.

“You can’t win or lose a championship on the first game,” Cook said. “But you always want to try and build a winning momentum as quickly as possible.”
