Hartlepool travel to Great Ayton tomorrow in what is sure to be a stern test.
Pool face a side who have started to come into a rich vein of form, and are moving themselves up the NYSD league.
They, like Pool, also won their semi final of the 15Fifteen competition midweek, and both sides will once again meet in the Finals day on Sunday, August 30.
The earlier encounter between these two sides was a fiery one, with Pool coming out victors in a tight low scoring game.
Pool had removed Ayton for a low score, and would have fanciend knocking of the total set, but came up against a stiff bowling opposition that almost snatched the game away.
Pool this time will be wary of that threat and will go into the game with some caution.
Ayton, however, will undoubtedly be up for the game, and will use the second innings performance to spur them on, and hopefully take the spoils.
Pool have kept themselves in contention at the top of the table, and the next three games will certainly show whether they have the credentials to take the league title.
Pool though are simply taking each game as it comes, and will go into the game on the back of a stunning victory at fellow title-chaser Barnard Castle.
Meanwhile, Seaton Carew host Normamby Hall tomorrow at Horby Park (start 1pm) while Blackhall host Bishop Auckland at Welfare Park, also starting at 1pm.
