HARTLEPOOL maintained their lead at the top of the NYSD League after a tough drawn encounter with Bishop Auckland.
Pool’s game at bottom club Northallerton was washed out on Saturday and while title rivals Marton beat the weather, they came a cropper against Bishops.
It meant Bishops arrived at Park Drive in confident mood and looking to claim a second title-chasing scalp.
Pool lost the toss and were asked to bat first on a wicket which had been well prepared despite the inclement weather over the weekend.
Professionals Kas Bodhisha (103) and Marc Symington (77) were the heroes as Pool piled up 218-7.
Bishop Auckland finished on 182-7 in the draw.
