BOOKMAKERS have slashed the odds on Exeter City’s Paul Tisdale becoming Newcastle United’s next head coach.

Tisdale is as short as 8/1 to succeed Alan Pardew at St James’s Park.

Remi Garde, evens with some bookmakers, remains the favourite for the post.

Tisdale, 41, is the second-longest serving manager in the Football League.

John Carver, meanwhile, remains in caretaker charge of Newcastle, who face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
