Sammy Ameobi is set to commit his future to Newcastle United – and join Cardiff City on a season-long loan.
Out-of-contract Ameobi was offered a new deal this summer by the club.
The 23-year-old – who was also interesting Wolverhampton Wanderers – is understood to have agreed the contract.
And the wingers’s elder sister, Titi, yesterday revealed on social media that Ameobi had left for Cardiff.
Ameobi – who has previously played for Middlesbrough on loan – made 27 appearances, and scored two goals, for United last season.
Meanwhile, former Newcastle goalkeeper Jak Alnwick is on trial at Leeds United.
Alnwick, 22, was released by the club at the end of the season.
