JAMES McFadden is mulling over several contract offers – including a deal from his boyhood club Motherwell.
McFadden is training with the Fir Park club after his short-term contract at Sunderland expired last month.
The Black Cats are willing to hand McFadden a deal until the end of the season – but he is looking for more regular first-team football.
And McFadden has returned to his former hunting ground to stay in shape.
Despite weekend reports suggesting McFadden has already agreed a deal at Fir Park, the 29-year-old remains a free agent with clubs north and south of the border trailing him.
Meanwhile, Sunderland have been linked with an existing Scottish Premier League player. The club is one of several clubs credited with an interest in Celtic defender Efe Ambrose.
The Nigerian, who endured a torrid time in last week’s Champions League defeat to Juventus, has also been linked with Liverpool and Swansea.
