Ronnie Moore is expecting a “tough” match tomorrow when Hartlepool United look to register their third home League Two win on the spin.

Carlisle United have yet to win in the division, though they have two Capital One Cup victories under their belts.

It’s better at both ends now but it’s clean sheets we want more than anything

RONNIE MOORE

Moore has two wishes tomorrow – three points and a clean sheet to put the seal on a great first month.

“It’s been a good start, even if we’ve lost two this week which is disappointing,” said Moore.

“There was nothing in it at Stevenage, I don’t think we deserved to lose, but we did.

“It would have been nice to have done better against Bournemouth, but that’s gone.

“Now, we’re looking forward to Carlisle, it’s a massive derby game.

“The lads have given everything [in the first month]and that’s what we need to keep doing, week-in, week-out and we are in a fantastic position.

“But you are not going to go all season unbeaten, we know that

“It’s how you bounce back from a defeat, that’s the big thing for us now.”

Pools have not scored in the last 180 minutes but Moore knows his strikers, Billy Paynter,Rakish Bingham and Scott Fenwick are all capable of goals though a clean for Adam Bartlett is just as much a priority.

Moore added: “Last season we conceded goals and didn’t score enough.

“It’s better at both ends now but it’s clean sheets we want more than anything.

“We will always get a goal with these players and it’s about getting back to keeping clean sheets, defending the right areas and doing the right things.

“All the strikers have scored, but we need more, we are always greedy, but we’ve been adventurous this season playing three up front.”
