NEWCASTLE United’s Yohan Cabaye could be out until the New Year.
The midfielder’s groin problem is likely to need surgery.
And United manager Alan Pardew fears Cabaye – who missed Saturday’s 2-1 home defeat to Swansea City – will be sidelined until January.
“He’s having a second opinion on his groin injury,” said Pardew. “We think he might need a little bit of surgery.”
Pardew has already lost a clutch of players – including Ryan Taylor and Haris Vuckic – to long-term injuries, and he can ill-afford to be without the influential Cabaye.
