COLIN Cooper has no qualms about Hartlepool United breaking new ground next season with a pink and black away kit.

Young Player of the Year Brad Walker modelled the eye-catching strip at the club’s annual awards night at the Staincliffe Hotel.

And it has met with the approval of Cooper.

Gone are the days where pink ‘is just for girls’, with boss Cooper declaring it “looks class”.

“We could have gone down a safe route and I do like this year’s away strip of red with a white stripe down the front,” he said.

“But, in the end, we narrowed it down to a shortlist of two – the one the lads are going to wear and one was fluorescent green.

“I think we’ve picked the right one.”
