HARTLEPOOL lads Ryan Brobbel and Matty Dolan played for Middlesbrough as Boro’s U21 side made it three games unbeaten in the Barclays Premier League when they drew 0-0 at Manchester United.

Brobbel and Dolan, recalled from loan spells at York City and Hartlepool United, both started last night’s stalemate at the AJ Bell Stadium.

Warren Joyce’s side dominated much of the play but were unable to find a way past Connor Ripley despite bringing Wilfried Zaha off the bench in the second half.

Boro, coached by former Pools star Graeme Lee, had gone into the game on the back of two impressive wins over Blackburn and Arsenal, but they were forced to settle for a point in Salford, Ripley make a stunning late save from Zaha.
