FORMER Manchester United youth player John Cofie will lead the attack for Hartlepool United’s reserves against Mansfield Town this afternoon.

Pools take on The Stags at Billingham Town’s Bedford Terrace ground (KO 2pm) and Sam Collins is looking for a response from his team after losing their last three matches, all against Hull City.

Cofie is given another chance to impress in attack as he continues a trial with the club, the 22-year-old started his career at Burnley before moving to Manchester United although he didn’t make a first team appearance.

He had spells on loan at Royal Antwerp, Sheffield United and Notts County before signing for Barnsley and then Molde.

Brad Walker and Nicky Featherstone are partnered in the centre of midfield.

There is no place for Tommy Miller though, the midfielder is continuing to build his fitness on the training ground after overcoming a troublesome calf injury.

Admission to the game is free for Pools season ticket holders, while regular prices are £5 for adults and £3 for concessions.

Pools: Maxted, Richards, Nearney, Jones, Holden, Featherstone, Walker, Skidmore, Blackford, Jewson, Cofie.
