FANS favourite Rob McKinnon can’t wait to make a return to Hartlepool United.
The Scot, a marauding full-back in the late 80s and early 90s, will be at Victoria Park this weekend.
He will be forming one half of a special Friday night function - ‘An Evening with Honour and McKinnon’.
Rob will be teaming up with fellow Pools legend and close friend, Brian Honour.
The pair are to re-live the good old days, and possibly some not so good days, when they were at the centre of one of the most eventful eras in the club’s history.
Honour and McKinnon will take centre stage in the Centenary Lounge, where they will take part in a question and answer session with fans.
“It’s quite a nerve-wracking thing for me because I don’t really do any public speaking,” said the 45-year-old, who will watch Pools play Dagenham & Redbridge on Saturday. “But it’s a great chance to remember the good times I had with the club.
“There are games that stand out like the Northampton for promotion, Cardiff on my debut, the games against Spurs were great memories too.”
l DOORS open at 7pm on the night and it’s just £10 per ticket, which includes pie and peas. Tickets are on sale now from the club’s ticket office. For further info, call (01429) 272584 (option 2).
