RONNIE Moore is delighted to have secured Jordan Hugill on loan until the end of the season ahead of tonight’s 5pm emergency loan deadline.
The 22-year-old joined Pools this morning ahead of Saturday’s game with Cambridge United at Victoria Park.
But the Pools boss is sweating on whether Scunthorpe United will recall David Mirfin from his spell at the club.
Moore said: “I’m made up to get Jordan in, he is a good player.
“It hasn’t worked out for him at Tranmere.
“There was one or two in for him and with him being from Middlesbrough, that will have helped us.”
Scunthorpe United manager Mark Robins has previously suggested he wouldn’t bring Mirfin back from Pools, the defender has a 24-hour recal option.
On Mirfin, Moore added: “I don’t think there will be anymore coming in [today].
“There is a little worry with Mirf, never say never but hopefully we will be okay.
“I’d hate for us to get past the deadline and then they call him back next week.
“I have known Mark Robins a long time and he played for me when I was at Rotherham, I like to think he wouldn’t stitch me up on something like that.”
Pools are expected to be backed by around 5,000 supporters at Victoria Park on Saturday, with the club again slashing ticket prices.
Moore added: “The fans have been absolutely unbeliebable with 3,500 coming in every week watching a side bottom of the league.
“Home and away, they get behind the players.
“The chairman has done well to put the offer on again and with there not being many other games, we are hoping over 5,000 will come through.
“They have nothing to do on Saturday so get behind us because we want to be staying in the Football League.”
