Hartlepool United got back to winning ways with a 3-0 victory over Dunston UTS.
Goals from Rakish Bingham, Nicky Featherstone and Jake Carroll gave Ronnie Moore’s men a confidence boost after their heavy defeats against Scunthorpe and Gateshead in the last two outings.
Moore had initially been set to field a largely second string for the game, which had been set up as part of the deal that saw Pools sign Scott Fenwick from Dunston last season.
But he opted for a strong side in wake of recent results.
Michael Duckworth came in to the 3-5-2 line-up at right wing-back, while Jake Carroll was at left wing-back as Carl Magna moved into a holding midfield position.
Bingham opened the scoring after Carroll had nodded a Duckworth cross down and it was 2-0 at the break when Featherstone converted Magnay’s through ball.
Carroll got the goal of the game after the break with a long-range strike as the Northern League side were comfortably defeated.
